Anabela Carvalho (PhD, University College London) is an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication Sciences at the University of Minho. Her research focuses on the fields of communication and environment, communication and science, and communication and political involvement.
She is the organizer of Communicating Climate Change: Discourses, Mediations and Perceptions (2008), Climate Change, Media and Citizens (2011), Climate Change Politics: Communication and Public Engagement (with TR Peterson, 2012), and Citizen Voices: Performing Public Participation in Science and Environment Communication (with L. Phillips and J. Doyle, 2012), as well as various thematic issues of scientific journals.
Anabela Carvalho is Vice-President of the Communication Section of Science and Environment of the European Communication Research and Education Association, member of the Board of Directors of the International Environmental Communication Association and was until 2012 ‘Associate Editor’ of the journal Environmental Communication.
