II National Survey – The Portuguese and the Environment

The main objective of this survey is to determine the configuration of the social representations, attitudes, opinions and expectations of the different strata of the Portuguese population in relation to environmental protection, nature conservation, spatial planning and other environmental issues. parents. These questions seek to take into account the marked diversity of Portuguese society and the dynamics that run through it, being analyzed according to socio-cultural, economic and geographical variables. The aim is to take stock of global public perceptions and to draw up a background on environmental values ​​and representations, their evolution and national and international comparability around four issues:

1. How do the Portuguese perceive the state of the environment in which they live and which problems most concern them on a personal and collective scale? and what environmental information they hold – Restless Country

2. What dissatisfactions do they demonstrate in their life scenario; what criticisms they give to the actions of the instituted powers and what they expect of them in environmental matters – Unsatisfied Country

3. What do our compatriots in practice do about the environment
and how they intervene civically and politically in this matter – Intervening Country

4. What do the Portuguese want of the environment variable in their articulation with the economic and social issues and problems of the country, and what changes do they wish or foresee in this scope – Country in Change.
