José Gomes Ferreira holds a degree in Sociology from the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE-IUL). He also holds a Master’s degree in Communication, Culture and Information Technologies from the same Institute. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences, specializing in Sociology, by the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, with the thesis “Basic sanitation: social factors in the failure of a deferred policy. The Lis case “.

Since 1998, he has been part of the Observatory – Observatory of Environment and Society team at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He has collaborated in several projects, highlighting the platform for the dissemination of environmental information – Ecoline – Conhecer mais para Mudar melhor
