Mariana Liz
Researcher

Mariana Liz graduated in Communication Sciences – University of Communication Sciences and Bachelor of Health Sciences in 2006. In 2012, she got a degree in Film Studies at King’s College in London. Her PhD experience on the idea of ​​Europe in cinema, contemporary Europe, was funded by the FCT, and published a book by Bloomsbury entitled Euro-Visions: Europe in Contemporary Cinema (2016). She taught film and language and Portuguese culture at King’s (2009-2013), Queen Mary in London (2012-2013) and University of Leeds (2013-2016) in the UK. He coordinated the volumes of Cinema Global de Portugal (2018) and, with Mary Harrod and Alissa Timoshkina, The Europeanity of European Cinema (2015). Since 2017, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where she develops a project on European cinema, cities and tourism, also financed by FCT.
