Education for Sustainable Development: Educational Action Program for the Future

United Nations resolution 57/254 proclaims the United Nations Decade for Education for Sustainable Development (DED), which begins in January 2005. The aim is to mainstream sustainable development into the various systems and at all levels of development. national, regional or international, whether formal or informal.
It is intended to equip individuals and societies with skills, perspectives, knowledge and values ​​so that they can live and work in a sustainable way. The proposed action program will focus on three key drivers – diagnosis; innovation / intervention; communication – and integrate the national, regional and local dimensions. It will involve various civil society organizations, taking into account the country’s enormous gap in terms of education, information and awareness for sustainable development.

Education for Sustainable Development (EDS) is a vision of education that seeks a balance between human well-being and economic well-being with respect for cultural traditions and natural resources.
